Butler County Emergency Services is no longer experiencing a phone outage which means the public should once again be able to call 9-1-1.
The 9-1-1 outage impacted Butler residents and 12 other counties in the state beginning shortly before 3 p.m. Wednesday afternoon before being resolved shortly after 3 p.m. Thursday.
Century Link, also known as Lumen, reported that the outage was as a result of a fiber line cut near Philadelphia.
Emergency officials said that Century Link customers in Slippery Rock, Harrisville, and Bruin were not able to make calls from landline phones. That service has also been restored.
