The Pittsburgh Penguins defeated the Calgary Flames 4-1 last night to open a four-game road trip. The Pens started slowly, allowing 17 shots in the opening period, but goaltender Tristan Jarry had another stellar night. He allowed just the one goal in the opening period, and made 33 of 34 saves. Rookie defenseman John Marino scored his fourth goal of the season and Bryan Rust netted another game-winning goal, both goals coming in the second period.
Evgeni Malkin and Kris Letang scored empty-net goals in the third period. For Malkin, it was his 400th career goal.
The Pens visit Edmonton Friday and Vancouver Saturday.
