New Year’s Day Bowl Games:
–Alabama defeated Michigan 35-16 in the Citrus Bowl in Orlando. Tide receiver Jerry Jeudy became the first Alabama receiver to top the 200-yard mark in a bowl game. He had six catches for 204 yards, including an 85-yard touchdown.
–Minnesota defeated Auburn 31-24 in the Outback Bowl played in Tampa. The Gophers finished 11-2 overall, the first time they have completed a season with more than 10 wins since 1904. Auburn
–Oregon defeated Wisconsin 28-27 in the Rose Bowl. Ducks quarterback Justin Herbert finished his collegiate career by rushing for three touchdowns.
–Georgia defeated Baylor 26-14 in the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans. The Bulldogs finished 12-2.
Six Division-I Bowl games remain including the national championship game between LSU and Clemson on January 13th. There are two games today:
–Cincinnati and Boston College play in the Birmingham Bowl at 3pm.
–Indiana and Tennessee meet in the the Gator Bowl at 7pm. Both games are televised on ESPN.
