The Florida Panthers defeated the Pittsburgh Penguins 4-1 last night at PPG Paints Arena. Jared McCann scored the lone Penguins goal. The Pens went 0-for-3 on the power play in the game, and managed just McCann’s first period goal. Tristan Jarry stopped 31 of 34 shots. Florida scored an empty-net goal late in the game.
The Pens begin a three-game road trip Tuesday in Las Vegas. Despite Sunday’s loss, the Pens have the fourth-best point total in the NHL, and are in second place in the Metropolitan Division.
