A local man has announced his intention to run for the 8th Legislative District seat previously held by state representative Tedd Nesbit.
Roy Remone is a Franklin Township resident and Navy Veteran with service from 1981 to 1986. Remone was named Butler County Veteran of the Year in 2017.
He is currently employed with the Mental Health Association of Butler County as a manager of veterans programs. Remone would make care for older adults and veterans a high priority along with preservation of the 2nd Amendment.
A special election will be held on Tuesday, March 17th between candidates chosen by the Republican and Democratic parties. So far, the only other candidate to announce a bid for nomination is Grove City resident Republican Veronica Cardello.
