The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation has announced the completion of all local bridge replacement projects through a statewide program.
PennDOT officials from Harrisburg recently visited the local district 10 offices to thank employees for helping with the construction of 38 bridges, including 10 in Butler County, over the last five years.
The nearly $900 million Rapid Bridge Replacement Project began in 2015 to replace 558 structurally deficient bridges across the state with minimal impact to travelers.
The unique public and private partnership agreement allowed for increased efficiency and cost savings through the mass production of components used on many different bridges of similar size and design.
