Slippery Rock University wide receiver Henry Litwin (Linesville, Pa./Conneaut Area Senior High) was selected as one of five male athletes from all Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference schools to be named to the PSAC Fall Top 10 in recognition of outstanding academic and athletic achievement.
The PSAC Top 10 honors 10 student-athletes, five men and five women, in each of the three traditional sports seasons throughout the year. In order to be eligible to be nominated, a student-athlete must maintain above a 3.5 cumulative GPA, be at least a sophomore in athletic standing and have significant athletic credentials. The PSAC Top 10 winners in each season advance to the ballot for the Pete Nevins Scholar-Athlete of the Year award that is handed out in the summer. Litwin was one of five total men selected from the sports of football, soccer and cross country among all PSAC institutions this fall.
A redshirt junior receiver from Linesville, Pennsylvania, Litwin is majoring in safety management with a minor in business administration at Slippery Rock. He owns a 3.61 cumulative GPA after completing more than 90 credit hours in the classroom.
The Top 10 honor is the latest in a long list of postseason accolades Litwin has earned for both his athletic performance and his academic performance following the fall semester. He was one of just four receivers in Division II to be named as a first team Academic All-American in voting by the College Sports Information Directors of America. Litwin was also a first team Academic All-District honoree in Super Region One.
On the field, Litwin shattered the SRU single-season records for receptions (103), receiving yards (1,503) and receiving touchdowns (21) while leading the top receiving corps in the nation and helping quarterback Roland Rivers III to the Harlon Hill Trophy. He ranked second among all players in Division II in 2019 in total receiving yards and receiving touchdowns and ranked sixth in the nation in total touchdowns.
Litwin caught at least two touchdown passes in eight different games and had at least 100 receiving yards in eight different games. He also stepped up in the biggest games, racking up 441 yards and five touchdowns in three NCAA Division II playoff games and tallying 105 yards with two touchdowns in the PSAC Championship game.
The staggering numbers put up by Litwin jump out even more when considering he shared the ball with two other players that both had more than 800 yards and nine touchdowns on the year. Jermaine Wynn Jr. caught 95 passes for 1,339 yards and 15 touchdowns and Cinque Sweeting grabbed 53 passes for 839 yards and nine scores.
