Girls Basketball:
–Butler defeated Shaler 49-42. Sarayne Forbes led the Golden Tornado with 19 points, including five three-point shots. Makenna Maier added 15.
–Freeport-67 Highlands-26. Sidney Shemanski led the Yellow Jackets with 16 points. Freeport led 35-12 by halftime.
–North Allegheny-69 Seneca Valley-35.
–Gateway defeated Mars 57-50 in overtime.
Boys Basketball:
–Moniteau defeated Brockway 51-43. Ethan McDeavitt led the Warriors with a double-double of 14 points and 10 rebounds.
–Keystone-56 AC Valley-47. Levi Orton led the Falcons with 17 points.
–West Shamokin-73 Karns City-47. Chase Beighley led the Gremlins with 30 points.
Tonight in Boys Basketball:
–Butler will host North Allegheny. Tip-off is 7:30pm. Pre-game on WBUT with Tyler Friel is 7:20pm.
–Knoch will visit Mt. Pleasant. Scott Briggs will have the pre-game on WISR at 7:15pm. Tip-off is 7:30pm.
Hockey:
–Butler JV hockey team defeated North Hills 5-3. Colten Gregory had a five-point night with two goals and three assists. Parker Worsley and Brady Bauer had a goal and an assist each. Bobby Barnes stopped 22 of 25 shots in net for Butler. The Golden Tornado’s next game will be February 3rd against Seneca Valley #2 at the Frozen Pond at 9:50pm.
