Boys Basketball:
–Knoch improved to 15-1 with a 78-58 victory over Deer Lakes. Ryan Lang led the Knights with 25 points. It was the 800th victory in school history for the team.
Tonight:
–Butler will visit North Hills. Tip-off is 7:30pm. Pre-game with Tyler Friel begins at 7:20pm on WBUT.
–Knoch will host Yough for a 7:30pm tip-off. Scott Briggs has the pre-game on WISR beginning at 7:15pm.
Girls Basketball
–Pine-Richland defeated Butler 48-41. Emma Montleone scored 20 points for the Golden Tornado.
–Freeport-61 Burrell-33. Sidney Shemanski led the Yellow Jackets with 19 points.
–North Catholic-85 Highlands-23. Tess Myers led the Trojanettes with 18 points.
The North Catholic swimmers swept Shady Side Academy.
The WPIAL Wrestling tournament brackets have been released. Butler will face Thomas Jefferson next Wednesday at Seneca Valley high school beginning at 6pm. The winner will move on to meet Section champion Seneca Valley at 8pm.
