Gas prices in western Pennsylvania continue to sink both regionally and locally over the last week.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon of regular, unleaded, self-serve in Butler, as of Monday, is $2.74 per gallon which is nine cents cheaper compared to last week.
Prices dropped by seven cents across western Pennsylvania as a whole this week, averaging $2.76 per gallon. The cheapest gas in the area can be found in Sharon at $2.54 per gallon, while the most expensive is $2.93 in Bradford.
The average national gas price dropped by three cents to $2.51, which is four cents less than last month but 25 cents more expensive than this date last year. Decreasing demand for gas combined with increasing stocks have kept prices low. Crude oil prices could further decline due to concerns about the coronavirus affecting global travel.
