Police have released more information about a crash that shut down Route 422 for over an hour last Friday.
The accident happened around 7 p.m. when an SUV driven by 62-year-old Cynthia Burianek of Aliquippa tried to make a left turn off of Greenwood Drive onto Route 422.
That’s when she was hit by a tractor trailer driven by 55-year-old Robert Cougle of Johnstown.
First responders had to extricate Burianek and her passenger 77-year-old Marietta Schriner also from Aliquippa.
They were taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for injuries described as moderate to severe.
Route 422 eastbound was shut down for an hour and a half while crews cleared the scene.
