The state Department of Conservation and Natural Resources is banning tobacco use at all state park playgrounds, including Moraine State Park.
That means all forms of smoking, vaping, and electronic cigarettes are prohibited within 30 feet of state park playgrounds.
DCNR spokesman Terry Brady says the decision was made to create a healthy environment.
We know that secondhand smoke is very dangerous to young people, and older people, and all people,” Brady said.
The City of Butler recently passed a similar tobacco ban at city parks last week.
