Steelers:
The Hall of Fame announced Tuesday that the 20-member Centennial Class will be inducted in separate events, with the traditional ceremony in August and a Centennial Celebration in September.
Safety Troy Polamalu and coach Bill Cowher are part of the first class that will be enshrined Saturday, Aug. 8. They are part of the five modern era players, two coaches and three contributors that will be celebrated on that day.
The 10 seniors candidates, of which safety Donnie Shell is a member, will have their day on Friday, Sept. 18.
NFL:
NFL player representatives voted early today (February 26th) to send the new collective bargaining agreement to the players for a vote, with a simple majority of the approximately 2,000 of them needed to approve it for it to go into effect this year.
The deal, which has already been approved by the owners, includes a 17-game season and shorter pre-season. The current collective bargaining agreement expires in March 2021, but the owners want to get a new contract in place as soon as possible. If approved, the new CBA would run through the 2030 season.
