Slippery Rock University quarterback Roland Rivers III will be in Atlantic City Friday night to receive the Westbrook Award at the Maxwell Club’s black-tie banquet. Rivers III is among several honorees at the event and will share the stage with Heisman Trophy winner Joe Burrow of LSU, Tigers head coach Ed Orgeron, along with Baltimore quarterback Lamar Jackson and Ravens head coach John Harbaugh.
The NCAA has given Pitt wide receiver Tre Tipton a sixth year of eligibility. Tipton has suffered two major knee injuries during his collegiate career.
