A portion of Route 8 North in neighboring Venango County was shut down for hours yesterday after a truck spilled metal shavings onto the road.
According to PennDOT representatives, it happened around 7:30 a.m. in the southbound lane between Route 308 and the entrance to Interstate 80 near Barkeyville. PennDOT says the incident resulted in multiple flat tires for motorists.
PennDOT crews were able to clear the road to reopen shortly after 3 p.m.
The Franklin Barracks of the State Police is asking anyone who believes they have been affected by this incident to contact them at 814-676-6595 and reference incident number PA20-31114.
