A portion of Route 19 in southern Butler County remains closed because of a vehicle accident.
According to our news partners at WPXI-TV about 8:30 a.m. Tuesday an 18-wheeler pulling a flatbed with an industrial vehicle was too large to fit under the Turnpike overpass and became wedged in. The vehicle fell on top of a car following the flatbed and a woman was taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
Route 19 south remains closed between the Route 228/Freedom Road intersection in Cranberry Township to Warrendale Bayne Road in Marshall Township, Allegheny County.
A portion of the Pennsylvania Turnpike that runs over Route 19 was also closed for a time but has since reopened. Route 19 is likely to remain closed until later this afternoon.
