The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is determining the feasibility of reopening the Ellwood City Medical Center.
According to State Representative Aaron Bernstine, Ellwood City Borough is encouraging the efforts in order to help with efforts to treat and care for those dealing with conronavirus.
After the Army Corps completes their assessment, they will complete any necessary work and provide any equipment that would be needed.
The Pennsylvania Department of Health mandated the shutdown of Ellwood City Medical Center about four months ago due to hospital ownership failing to meet licensing requirements for equipment.
