Butler Memorial Hospital is treating 11 patients for COVID-19 symptoms, according to an update provided by Butler Health System officials Sunday morning.
Three of those patients are currently in intensive care.
The Butler Health System says they have performed over 1,700 tests between their facilities at Butler Memorial Hospital and Clarion Hospital. The results of those tests were not included in the latest update.
Officials say that internal surge capacity plans are complete, meaning all ventilators, critical care, and anesthesia are available.
Also the Butler Health System also says that emergency, medical or surgical and critical care beds will expand into alternative units, unused units, and non-clinical areas such as classrooms. The Butler Health System announced earlier in the weekend that Broad Street Elementary School will be used as an off-site care facility if needed.
Supply of personal protective equipment is adequate at this time, according to BHS, but donations are still encouraged. You can email [email protected] to arrange a donation of PPE.
