In yet another adjustment to the way things used to be done as a result of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the office of the Butler County Register of Wills is starting to allow for the opening of estates virtually.
According to Register of Wills Sarah Edwards, the decision to offer this virtual service was made after legal consultation. Both the petitioner and the attorney representation will need to attend a Zoom meeting.
The new online opening will allow for the administration process of an estate to get underway while the Butler County Government Center remains closed to the public.
Since the Register of Wills Office is operating with a very limited staff, only a select number of estates will be able to be opened each day.
