The Pennsylvania state house has passed a bill that would reopen many businesses across the Commonwealth.
Senate Bill 613 would require the Governor to readjust the list of life-sustaining businesses by using the CDC’s guidelines.
Local State Representative Marci Mustello voted in favor of the proposal.
“We need a plan to reopen. We need a plan for recovery and that’s what this is. Its opening businesses back up to those safety standards, nothing but.”
The bill passed the house by a 107 to 95 vote and also passed the Senate on Wednesday, advancing now to the desk of Governor Wolf.
Mustello is hosting an online event with Secretary of Agriculture Russell Redding focusing on local agriculture later this week.
“Its really for the Ag community to know what’s going on with agriculture in Pennsylvania, especially in Butler County. A lot of these farmers are plowing their fields again and really not harvesting some of the vegetables and fruits because everything’s closed. Also a lot of these greenhouses aren’t open so we want some answers on those issues.”
This teleconference will begin around 9 a.m. Friday and continue for about 90 minutes. Please RSVP by 4 p.m. Thursday to Mustello’s office by phone or online.
