The shutdown of casinos all across the state has led to a significant increase in online gambling.
March brought in a record amount of wagers and revenue for online casinos.
Pennsylvanians placed $871.6 million in wagers in March—that’s up more than $300 million from February. The casinos netted more than $20 million in revenue.
However, sportsbooks took a major hit. Pennsylvania’s handle slumped to just over $130 million.
Prior to the coronavirus shutdown—sportsbooks were on track to their highest month of wagers yet.
