Congressman Mike Kelly is on the mend following his positive test for COVID-19.
Kelly talked to our newsroom and said the virus was very draining.
“I lost my appetite. I just stayed away from food in general. I lost 30 pounds during a 10 day period,” Kelly said. “But the main thing was feeling nauseated, having headaches, having muscle cramps, but the exhaustion was one of the things that really got to me.”
“I was very fortunate to not have respiratory issues,” Kelly added.
Kelly said even though he’s feeling better now, it’s difficult to adjust to the new way of living during the pandemic.
“I think people in this area are just used to getting up and going to work. Getting up and going outside. Getting up and seeing friends,” Kelly said. “We’re used to being into a routine, and all of a sudden that routine has just been shut off.”
Kelly said while his physical offices are closed—they can be reached by phone or going online.
