The Altoona Curve have announced they are joining the Minor League Baseball CommUNITY First national initiative. Held in conjunction with Feeding America to raise funds for local food banks and to honor individuals risking their lives on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Fans of the Curve are invited to visit the website MILB.com/CommUnity First through the end of May to make a donation. Once on the site, fans can choose their donation amount and the Altoona Curve as the recipient of their donation to direct funds to the Altoona community. For every $10 donated, the Curve will donate one ticket to a future home game this season or in 2021 to a local hero of the pandemic.
The Baseball Hall of Fame announced yesterday that it is postponing this year’s induction ceremony scheduled for late July. The 2020 class, headed by Derek Jeter and Larry Walker – will be honored next July in Cooperstown, New York.
