Local lawmakers and politicians are expressing frustration with the decisions made by and communication with officials in the administration of Governor Tom Wolf.
Butler County Commissioners have joined with those from Greene, Fayette, and Washington Counties to send an open letter to Wolf about the delay in moving their residents into the yellow phase of reopening.
Commissioners conveyed that they are “thoroughly dismayed” about the lack of access to critical information. They also said that “we are left with no other option but to support legal action by our residents and businesses (to) protect their constitutional rights, safety, and welfare”.
A group of Butler County legislators also recently sent a letter to Governor Wolf urging his administration to immediately include the county in the first wave of counties to reopen on Friday. They describe themselves as “beyond frustrated and extremely disappointed” on behalf of “angry and worried” constituents.
Those signing this letter include State Representatives Marci Mustello, Aaron Bernstine, Tim Bonner, Lee James, Jim Marshall, Daryl Metcalfe, and Jeff Pyle as well as State Senators Scott Hutchinson, Joe Pittman, and Elder Vogel.
