Denny Hamlin closed NASCAR’s iRacing Series with a victory at a simulation of a throwback North Wilkesboro Speedway Saturday. Nascar has not raced at the former track since the mid-1990’s. It was the final iRacing event – as actual racing is set to return at Darlington this weekend, without fans in attendance. Hamlin had won the first iRacing event after the NASCAR season was halted in March. He also was winner of this year’ Daytona 500.
Hear Nascar’s return on WBUT 1050am Sunday at 2:30pm and the following race, also at Darlington next Wednesday, (May 20th) – at 6:30pm.
Kyle Larson returned to racing – in a World of Outlaws event in Iowa over the weekend. Larson was fired from his NASCAR Chip Ganassi Racing ride in April for using a racial slur heard during an iRacing broadcast. He finished 10th in the main event, won by David Gravel.
