Governor Tom Wolf will permit neighboring Beaver County to move into the yellow phase of the state’s plan to reopen next week.
Beaver had been left out of the announcement last Friday when Wolf said that virtually all of the southwest portion of the state would be able to enter the yellow phase today, May 15th.
The PA Department of Health recently took action at the Brighton Rehab facility that has experienced many fatalities as a result of COVID-19 and was presumed by many people to have been the reason why Beaver was not permitted to reopen with neighboring counties.
Along with Beaver County, 11 other counties will be permitted to move to the yellow phase on May 22nd including many in the south central portion of the state. A total of 18 counties in the eastern part of the state will remain in the red phase after next Friday.
