No new cases of COVID-19 were announced for Butler County Friday, as the state saw an increase of 866 new cases.
That keeps the county’s case count at 209 total.
Statewide there are now more than 66,000 positive cases reported and more than 312,000 negative tests.
The death toll increased by 115 in today’s report, as the state now nears 5,000 COVID-19 deaths.
Butler Health System is reporting that as of 10 a.m. Friday, six patients are receiving treatment for coronavirus symptoms at Butler Memorial Hospital including two currently in the ICU.
Governor Tom Wolf has updated in the state’s response to the coronavirus.
Wolf is adding eight more eastern Pennsylvania counties to phase yellow next Friday with the reminder in red expected to move to yellow the week after.
Wolf also said that he plans to move 17 counties in the north and central portion of the state to the green phase next Friday as well, including neighboring Lawrence County. Many businesses will be allowed to reopen at reduced capacity under the green phase but many large gatherings and events are still discouraged.
Many of these counties had been among the first to move into the yellow phase on May 8th.
