Three new COVID-19 cases were announced Monday for Butler County, bringing the total to 271.
Butler Memorial Hospital is treating two patients for the coronavirus, with no one in the ICU.
Meanwhile officials in Allegheny County are reporting an uptick in cases, with 45 new positive tests reported today.
Across the state, there were 452 new cases and about 9,000 negative tests reported.
State Secretary of Health Dr. Rachel Levine is encouraging state residents to not let their guard down in fight against the coronavirus.
“This virus is not gone,” Levine said. “It’s very important for people to not be complacent, and not to have a false sense of security that the virus is somehow gone from Pennsylvania or the United States. It is not.”
Butler Health System officials also say that many vacation destinations have emerged as COVID-19 hot spots and urge people to be aware of their surroundings.
