The Pittsburgh Steelers and linebacker Bud Dupree did not agree to a long-term contract prior to Wednesday’s deadline, and Dupree will play under the franchise tag this season. He will make $15.8 million after recording a career-high 11-1/2 sacks last year. Dupree’s agent has filed a grievance against the Steelers, asking that Dupree be paid tag money as a defensive end – which is almost $2 million more.
The Tennessee Titans agreed to a new four-year contract with running back Derrick Henry, who led the NFL in yardage last season. With the agreement, Henry will not play under the franchise tag. He will make $50 million over the life of the contract – $25 million is guaranteed.
New Era has asked out of its Ralph Wilson Stadium sponsorship with the Buffalo Bills.
