Casinos have been hit hard by the coronavirus shutdowns. A new report shines light on just how much gambling revenue is down in Pennsylvania.
The AP reports that state’s casino revenue dropped by 18%, from $3.3 billion a year ago, to $2.7 billion in the just-finished fiscal year, according to the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.
The AP report added that despite the decrease from the previous year’s record high, Pennsylvania, “would have been much worse without the advent of online gambling and sports betting.”
The Keystone State is second commercial gambling state in the country.
