Data shows many residents of Butler Township continue to take advantage of a perk first included with trash service last year, the recycling of electronics and hazardous household waste.
Butler Township Manager Tom Knights provided the latest update about collection by Waste Management in the second quarter of 2020.
According to data supplied Monday to the board, nearly five tons of hazardous household and e-waste was collected from 77 households during April, May, and June- including over 5,000 pounds of televisions, nearly a ton of other electronics, and nearly 1,500 pounds of paint.
Butler Township residents with questions about the process of disposing of items like these should contact Waste Management or the Township for more information. Butler Township continues to offer glass recycling collection at the Butler Township building.
