Students, faculty, and staff returning to the campus of Slippery Rock University later this month will see some changes in regard to food service.
As a result of the situation with coronavirus, SRU’s food vendor AVI Fresh plans to modify some hours and facility service as well as increase safety and sanitary measures.
Most facilities that were previously dine-in, such as Boozel Dining Hall, will now be take-out only. Starbucks on campus will also be takeout only with both Quaker Steak and Lube and Rocky’s closed. Weisenfluh Dining Hall will also be closed, as will T&B Naturally, Flatz Express, and the Campus Drive Grill.
Where food is served, AVI Fresh plans to apply condiments behind the service line rather than allow customers to do so. Fewer student residents are anticipated to be on campus but all dining options will be available for those with allergies or vegetarian preferences. Social distancing protocols will be followed with floor markings and all utensils and containers will be disposable. Sanitization will also be increased.
