Local residents are encouraged to continue to avoid a Butler Township Park this week due to ongoing construction.
According to Butler Township Manager Tom Knights, the project at Preston Park to expand parking and install a new restroom had a small holdup as a result of an electrical situation but work is once again moving forward.
The township recently learned that it will be able to convert the storm water retention depression already at the park to an actual wet pond 3 to 6 feet deep with a fountain that can change colors.
The existing park road is not able to be used but crews have been able to put in the sewer line and are expected to be able to move forward with the pond area so that storm water collected has a place to deposit.
