Slippery Rock University has announced some changes to reflect new safety measures in place for this fall at Bailey Library.
The library opens for fall semester classes today and the hours of operation have been adjusted to 7:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, closing at 4:30 p.m. Fridays, and open noon to 9 p.m. Sundays. The library will be closed on Saturdays for extensive sanitation.
Consumption of food and beverages in the library will be prohibited except in the designated vending machine area. Also, access to the third floor where most of the library’s physical materials are located will be by appointment only.
Floor markings and directional signs will promote social distancing. Finally, eight sanitation stations will be located on the first and second floors so that students can disinfect a space before use.
Students can request materials or reserve an individual learning space for up to two hours by visiting the library’s webpage.
