Butler Township will hold a hearing next month to receive public input about a proposal to change how some local properties are zoned.
The hearing will take place September 21st at 7 p.m. at the Butler Township Municipal Building and focus on a zoning change from residential to commercial for several properties on Litman Road between Old Plank Road and Route 8.
Properties affected include ones near the Greater Butler Mart as well as the former South Butler Fire Hall which is no longer in use due to the merger of the Township’s volunteer fire companies. A total of 136 property owners who own property within 400 feet of the property that could be rezoned will be notified about the proposed change.
This topic will also be discussed at the next Township Planning Commission meeting on September 1st. The Township Commissioners are expected to take a vote on approving this proposal following the public hearing on September 21st.
