A precautionary boil water advisory is in effect for residents in portions of the City of Butler, Butler Township, and Center Township.
Pennsylvania American Water said that they experienced a loss in positive water pressure after a 12-inch water main break happened earlier today.
According to officials, they encourage to bring all water to a rolling boil, let it boil for one minute, and cool before using. They urge you to do this for drinking, making ice, washing dishes, brushing teeth, and food preparation until further notice.
Bottled water is available at the Sears parking lot at the Clearview Mall until 9 p.m. tonight; and available at Pennsylvania American Water’s Butler Treatment Plant at 203 Oneida Valley Road tomorrow and Monday from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m.
