A precautionary boil water advisory continues to be in effect for residents of the City of Butler, Butler Township, and Center Township.
Pennsylvania American Water said that they experienced a loss in positive water pressure after a 12-inch water main break on Saturday.
According to officials, crews have repaired the pipe, and tank water levels have returned to normal. The company expects the advisory to be lifted on Monday, pending any changes in test results.
Until the advisory is lifted, residents are encouraged to bring all water to a rolling boil, let it boil for one minute, and cool before using. Impacted customers should do this to water used for drinking, making ice, washing dishes, brushing teeth, and food preparation.
Bottled water is available at Pennsylvania American Water’s Butler Treatment Plant at 203 Oneida Valley Road on Sunday and Monday from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m.
