Students in two more Butler County school districts will head back to class today to begin the first day of a new school year.
Students in the Seneca Valley School District as well as those in the Karns City School District are returning in different ways.
Seneca Valley will utilize the Cohort Model for the first four weeks of school in which students will be split into two groups based on last name. Students with last names beginning with the letters A through L will go to school buildings Mondays and Wednesdays and remote learn for the remainder of the week. The rest of the students will travel to the buildings Tuesdays and Thursdays with remote learning the other days.
According to Karns City Superintendent Dr. Eric Ritzert, his administration team will be working to keep students safe but also trying to get students outside as much as possible while the weather is nice so the new restrictions are not overwhelming to students.
