Local residents have the opportunity to help neighbors in need while also learning information about themselves later this week.
The American Red Cross is holding a blood drive on Thursday from 1 to 6 p.m. at the Cranberry Township Municipal Center.
The Red Cross is continuing to test blood, platelet, and plasma donations for COVID-19 antibodies. This is NOT a test to diagnose illness. Rather, donations will be tested for the presence of an antibody that could indicate exposure to the virus. This test does not confirm immunity but could allow for the donation of convalescent plasma.
All donors must wear a mask. Those who cannot or will not wear a mask should not make an appointment. All donors will receive a $5 Amazon gift card by email.
Those interested or able to donate are asked to make an appointment by downloading the American Red Cross Blood Donor App, visiting the Red Cross website, or calling 1-800-RED CROSS.
