There were 12 new cases of COVID-19 for Butler County on Friday.
It comes with 191 negative tests, giving the report a 5.9 percent positivity rate.
As of Friday morning, Butler Memorial Hospital is treating four patients for the coronavirus, with one in the ICU.
Overall the state reported 891 new cases, 10 new deaths, and just over 11,000 negative tests.
It’s now been a few weeks since Slippery Rock University has returned to classes, and that’s also resulted in an uptick in COVID-19 cases among students.
Over the past seven days, the university says they’ve had 33 new COVID-19 cases.
All of those cases have been confined to the student population, so far according to SRU no faculty members have had a positive test.
The university says anyone who has come into close contact with infected people have been, or will be notified and advised on the appropriate health and safety protocols.
