The South Butler County School District has decided to once again modify the plan concerning how students are educated.
The new Phased Reopening Plan approved by a school board vote of 6 to 3 will see secondary students return to a five day a week schedule of in-person learning. This will begin Monday, September 21st. Elementary students will continue to attend in-person five days a week.
According to South Butler Superintendent Dr. David Foley, this change from a hybrid plan for secondary students of two days in person and three days remote learning will result in a decreased ability to social distance especially in hallways, eating areas, and transportation.
Foley went on to say that some students have been sent home with symptoms that have been identified with COVID-19 but the district has not been notified that any students have tested positive for the virus.
