2019 was a record year for natural gas production in Pennsylvania.
A new report released by the state’s Department of Environmental Protection showed that 6.8 trillion cubic feet of natural gas was extracted by unconventional drillers last year.
That tops the 2018 record by more than 10 percent.
Overall, the DEP also found just under 3,000 violations in over 31,000 inspections of both conventional and unconventional drilling locations, according to the report.
