The Butler Township Commissioners have approved a change to the zoning of some local properties.
Following a public hearing on a zoning change from residential to commercial for several properties on Litman Road between Old Plank Road and Route 8, the commissioners unanimously voted to approve the change.
Properties affected include ones near the Greater Butler Mart as well as the former South Butler Fire Hall which is no longer in use due to the merger of the Township’s volunteer fire companies.
The South Butler Fire Hall property is owned by the Butler Township Fire District and not the Township itself so that organization is the one which would be looking for a buyer. Township officials did say that they are not aware of any serious interest in the property at this time.
