Republican State Senator Joe Pittman is offering harsh criticism against Governor Tom Wolf after he vetoed a bill that would have required legislative oversight of approval to join the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative.
The greenhouse group—also known as Reggie—is a coalition of mainly northeastern states working together on measures to reduce carbon emissions.
Pittman, who represents portions of northern Butler County, argues that the initiative will “sign the economic death warrant of the communities I serve.”
Wolf countered that the program is economically sound and will help fight climate change.
