There’s still time to join with friends and neighbors in donating time and resources to local organizations through the United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania’s Week of Caring.
This year’s 25th annual event begins this Friday and will continue through next Friday, October 9th.
Organizations and projects in need of volunteer assistance include food packing with the United Way in Butler on Monday, building free little libraries with the United Way in Slippery Rock on Tuesday, or landscaping with Glade Run Lutheran Services in Zelienople on Wednesday. Butler Township is looking for help painting the dek hockey rink on Thursday and those looking for a virtual opportunity to participate can do so through a donation of feminine hygiene products to the Butler YWCA’s Project Period program.
The week not only helps local organizations complete projects, it also raises the profile of those groups within the community. For more information, visit the website of the United Way of Southwestern PA.
