Congressman Mike Kelly is joining fellow Republicans on the Ways and Means Committee calling for a probe into a recent New York Times story detailing President Trump’s taxes.
Kelly serves the as the top Republican on the Oversight Subcommittee and he signed as a co-author to a letter that requests the IRS and Department of Justice launch an investigation into the sources the Times used to discover the President’s tax information.
The letter states that tax information is private, and that this should be a serious concern for Americans.
The New York Times said they acquired the information from sources that had legal access to the President’s taxes.
