A long-time Harmony Volunteer Firefighter has been named Volunteer of the Year by Zelienople Borough.
Earlier this week the borough presented the 2019 award to Rodney Kniess.
Kniess joined the Harmony Volunteer Fire District in 1975 and moved up through the ranks to become Assistant Chief. He has also served as the treasurer of the Harmony Fire District for the past 28 years.
Kniess has also donated time leading funding drives as well as banking, paying bills, and pricing insurance. Harmony Volunteer Fire District serves Zelienople and Harmony Boroughs as well as Jackson and Lancaster Townships.
