Gas prices continue to inch downward locally as well as across western Pennsylvania as a whole this week.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon regular, unleaded, self-serve in Butler, as of Monday, is $2.44 per gallon which is a decrease of a penny compared to last week.
Prices also dropped by a penny to $2.52 per gallon across western Pennsylvania as a whole over the past week. The most affordable average price for gas in the area can be found in New Castle at $ 2.28 per gallon, while the most expensive is $2.60 in Indiana and Oil City.
The average national gas price remained steady this week at $2.16 which is two cents less than last month and 44 cents less than last year. According to AAA, the demand for gas is the lowest it has been since mid-June and 14% less than one year ago.
