Knoch high school cross country runner Mike Formica won the WPIAL 2A championship Wednesday at White Oak Park. He edged Ringgold’s Ryan Pajak by two seconds. Formica’s winning time was 16:15.
The North Catholic Girls won the 2A team event. The Knoch Girls were fifth, led by Elyse Chess and her ninth-place finish overall. The Knights’ Emma Haugh was 10th. The Trojan Boys were fifth. Knoch Boys team finished eighth.
