The Butler Township Planning Commission will wait for further review by staff before making a recommendation about a housing development planned for the Highfield area.
After hearing from a representative for the developer of the 39 acre Highfield Trails plan on South Duffy and Highfield Roads, the commission decided to table a decision until the January meeting.
113 single family units of approximately a quarter acre each are planned for the property which would also have 13 acres of open space among the houses. Several residents expressed concern about the plan.
The Highfield Community Center will remain as currently situated. It is not part of the development and discussions are ongoing about allowances for parking. War monuments on the affected property will be respectfully moved to a location near the Community Center.
